Your answers to these questions will be included in a report to the OEA Board of Directors as they continue to evaluate the union’s approach to addressing this continued crisis.

Since the shutdown of our schools during the spring, how have things changed for you and your students?

Has your district been taking the necessary steps for you to do your job safely?  In your response, please describe the actions taken by your district that helped you feel safe at work, as well as any actions you believe need to be taken to feel safe at work.

Has your district been taking all the necessary steps to ensure that both the academic and the social and emotional needs of your students are being met?  In your response, please describe the actions taken by your district that helped ensure that the academic and social and emotional needs of your students are being met, as well as any actions you believe need to be taken to best support your students.

Please describe how your district has made decisions on issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.  What, if any, resources are they using to inform their decisions (local or state dashboards, Board of Health, outside consultant, etc.)? Are there other resources on which you think the district should rely for making these decisions? How have you and your local association been included in that process?

What education model(s) is/are currently being used in your district (hybrid, digital academy, full-remote, in-person, etc.)? How do you think your district should proceed with providing instruction in the second half of the school year? Should they maintain their current model or move to a different model? If different, what model?
